As I was a mom with one child with me, and other babies within the cradle was working 12 hour shifts cleaning floors and tear off wallpaper. Ha! The home was beginning to look nice, but there were a few things that needed to be left. It would take an enormous amount of effort as well as my favourite brands of furniture to furnish this home. In order to keep my budget in good shape, I went out with my three boys in search for deals at estate sales. The weekly ritual was that we would go through estate and garage sales on Saturdays and Thursdays, purchasing a mix of new and old pieces. Then I would spend my weekdays painting and sanding out in the driveway. My passion for furniture restoration began with a look that was similar to this. Although our house had been equipped, I couldn't stop. In the market in town I was able to rent a tiny area and then sold a few items. Then, I ran out of lots of pieces to keep in the available space. Then I began hosting open houses in my home that saw more than 1 000 visitors came through on one weekend, and purchase anything they wanted in the first floor. Growing Days was created in the home. Apart from my successful business, I also grew our family. As a mom of a child I was able to strike the right equilibrium to start my own business and also be a good mother. Growing Days was the obvious choice. My precious Nora came into the world in 2013, our fourth baby. The direction of my business was great, but I was forced to rest for a while. I decided to quit doing work on my furniture and stay home with the kids. In the beginning, this was exactly what I needed. But after a couple of months without a phone, it began to call. I was getting calls from people needing help with their interior decorating and home renovations. The majority of them had attended my house during the open houses that were held for furniture. In the following time I began to take on customers in my own way. Before long I had several accounts and a home renovations company. Most likely, I would have laughed if someone had told me the company was to become the basis for an upcoming television show that airs on the DIY Network. Indeed, I am laughing slightly when I recall the story.
